Alex Porter

Following the conclusion of his University training he has worked across multiple different hospitals and care settings within the NHS gaining experience in Musculoskeletal therapy, Respiratory therapy, Neurological therapy, Orthopaedics. He spent two years as a senior physiotherapist working in Paediatrics. Currently Alex works as a senior physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy and is a manager of the therapy team at a local Foundation trust hospital.

Training

Alex Porter trained at Teesside University completing a three year degree in Sports Therapy followed by a two year Masters in Physiotherapy. Currently Alex is studying for his second Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy at Hertfordshire University. Alex is a student educator and regularly takes on work experience and university students. He also works alongside Hertfordshire University on the interviewing panel for prospective physiotherapy students.

Outside of the NHS Alex has specialised in Musculoskeletal and Sports therapy. Alex’s involvement within the sporting sector includes working with:

Alex continues to attend postgraduate courses and training to be up to date with the most current evidence and literature. This enables Alex Porter Physiotherapy to adopt the latest treatment methods resulting in better practice and a quicker recovery. Alex is currently working towards completing a second Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy.
